現在小生が使っているCannonball Musical Instruments製のSaxophonesについて
現在小生が使っているCannonballというサックスは近年少しづつ認知されてきたメーカーである。
このメーカーは１９９６年に最初の楽器を発売して今年で１０年を迎える。
モデルチェンジを繰り返すごとに次々と意欲的な試みと研究を重ね2001年にBig Bell Global Seriesを
発表、更に2005年にはSTONE SERIESと更に進化したものを発表
後に記すがその製造過程も本体は台湾で製造し、それをアメリカ・ユタ州の本社工場に送り最終調整を
行い市場に出している。
☆台湾のCannonball工場
CannonballのSaxophoneはその製造と組み立ての大半を台湾の工場で行なっている。
Cannonballの創業者でCEOの。。。は台湾に存在するいくつものSaxophone工場をまわりその中から
ソプラノサックスをヨーロッパ向けに製造していた技術力がある工場と、
パートナー契約を結び新しく工場を一から建設をしている。
☆ソルトレイクシティー・サンディー(ユタ州)施設
台湾の工場で組み立てられた完成後の楽器は、サンディー(ユタ州)のCannonballの施設に出荷される。
ユタでは、Cannonballの最も重要な部分を担当します。
各部分のカスタム設計するのが、ここです。
各部分は、再調整されて、不具合等がないかどうかチェックされます。
ここにはソプラノとアルト担当とテナーとバリトン担当のそれぞれの技術者が
実際にプレーして製品を確実なものに仕上げていき、
また、ピッチの狂いが有ればこのとき、修理されている。
